Clinton Lotter was born in Robertson, Cape Province, South Africa in 1971. His interest in fabric and garment design began early as a child, "I was always fascinated by ballet and opera costume. Princess Diana was one of my first fashion icons aged 10". Clinton graduated in fashion design in Johannesburg in 1993 and became South African Designer of the Year in 1998. He took a placement in Paris with Stella McCartney at Chloe, before moving to London in 2000. As a visual merchandiser and sales consultant for unique Soho fabric company Broadwick Silks, Clinton continued to hone his technical skills, with commissions including: Gwen Stefani; Jamelia; Kylie; Charlotte Church and Fern Britten. Corporate television, film and advertising commissions including: Pop Idol, Batman Begins and Tomb Raider/Cradle of Life. In 2008, he appeared on Sky Television's Project Catwalk. After recently leaving Soho, Clinton launches his first solo collection. Latest commissions include Kara Tointon, Madame Tussauds and Littlewoods.
